Workout journal

A training log that keeps up between sets.

Most workout apps want you following a plan, a feed or a coach. IyalGym is a journal: log what you lifted in seconds, and it shows you what’s recovered, what to lift next and what got stronger.

Coming to iPhone. Logging stays free, and Pro is yours to choose: monthly, yearly or lifetime.

How it works

Log the set. The rest takes care of itself.

The weight carries over from your last set, so you only type the reps. The rest timer starts on its own, a superset rests once per round, and the volume adds up as you go — no Start button, nothing to save.

  • The clock rest counting down, then the session
  • The volume every working set, added as you lift
  • A1 · A2 a superset — one rest per round

      Inside the app

      A sneak peek inside.

Real screens from the version in App Review, with ten weeks of sample training loaded.

      1. IyalGym Today on a Monday: last week read back — 3 of 3 days, goal met ten weeks running, 67 sets, 16% above usual, three new bests — then this week and the readiness dial.
        01 · TodayFreePro

        Your week, read back

Today opens on the week against your goal and a readiness dial for eight muscle groups. On Mondays, last week comes first: days, sets against your usual, new bests and how many lifts are due more weight.

      2. An IyalGym session: the rest timer at 1:26, 7.2k kg lifted, and an incline dumbbell press with its target of 32.5 kg for 11, 10, 9 and 8 reps above the sets.
        02 · SessionFreePro

        Know what to lift next

Every lift shows a target from last time: one more rep, or more weight once every set reaches the top of its range. The weight carries over and the rest timer starts itself.

      3. IyalGym session done: 52 minutes, 17 sets, 7.2k kg lifted, and a recap with 4 of 4 targets hit, two new bests and 13% more volume than last Push A.
        03 · RecapFreePro

How it went, before you leave

Time, sets and weight lifted, then the targets you hit, your new bests and what goes up next time. Save it as a workout to start again in one tap.

      4. IyalGym Progress for October: 13 days trained, four of four weeks on goal, 263 working sets, 138k kg lifted and sets by muscle group.
        04 · ProgressFree

Consistency, volume and muscles at a glance

Days trained, weeks on goal, working sets and kilos lifted, for any week, month or year — and which muscle groups get less than usual.

      5. IyalGym muscle groups: push to pull and upper to lower ratios, and sets a week for each group against your own usual range.
        05 · MusclesPro

Measured against you, not a study

Sets a week for every muscle group, against your own usual range — so “below usual” means below you.

      6. IyalGym strength: new bests by estimated one-rep max over three months, led by the dumbbell shoulder press, up 29%.
        06 · StrengthPro

        See which lifts got stronger

An estimated one-rep max for every lift, with new bests dated to the session. Conservative by design: it never rounds you up.

      7. IyalGym Body over three months: bodyweight as a seven-day average falling toward a 72.1 kg goal, reached around 12 February at this rate, BMI 24.4, FFMI 20.0 and measurements.
        07 · BodyFreePro

        Weight against a goal

Bodyweight as a seven-day average, your goal and when you’ll reach it at this rate, BMI and FFMI, and your measurements.

      Questions

      Good to know.

      When does IyalGym launch?

It’s with Apple for review now, and goes live the moment it’s approved. Leave your email and you’ll get exactly one message: the day it’s on the App Store.

      What will it cost?

Logging stays free: unlimited sessions, three saved workouts, reminders, your week and your charts. Pro adds next-set targets, the Monday review, session recaps and deeper analysis — monthly or yearly with a free trial, or Lifetime, paid once.

      Does it track cardio?

Not in the first version. IyalGym 1.0 is a weightlifting journal; timed work like runs and planks comes later.

Will my log sync between devices?

Not yet. Your log stays on your iPhone — no account and no server of ours. An optional backup to your own iCloud is planned.
